Selain korban penembakan, Marshall mengatakan satu orang dirawat karena kemungkinan patah kaki.
Setidaknya salah satu dari mereka yang ditembak adalah seorang pelajar, namun usia para korban dan apakah ada di antara mereka yang merupakan pelajar tidak diketahui pada awal penyelidikan, kata Marshall.
Polisi menerima gambaran tentang tersangka laki-laki yang meninggalkan tempat kejadian tetapi orang tersebut tidak ditahan pada Jumat malam, kata Marshall.
Jumlah kemungkinan penembak tidak diketahui, namun ada laporan mengenai dua kilatan moncong yang terlihat selama penembakan, kata Marshall.
Kepala Polisi Kota Del Loyd Berger mengatakan petugas Kota Del yang sedang tidak bertugas berada di pertandingan tersebut untuk memberikan keamanan dan salah satu dari mereka menembakkan senjatanya tetapi tidak terluka.
“Seorang petugas Del City terlibat dalam penembakan itu,” kata Berger, seraya menambahkan bahwa Kantor Sheriff Oklahoma County akan menyelidiki keterlibatan petugas tersebut dalam penembakan tersebut.
Kantor sheriff diminta untuk membantu di TKP sementara patroli jalan raya dan lembaga kepolisian komunitas lainnya juga merespons, kata Marshall.
